Thursday, September 3rd

During math we discussed our new vocabulary words – after, before, between, and number line. We also ordered numbers using a number line.

We practiced Read to Self and Read to Someone and are adding minutes every day. We read The Gym Teacher from the Black Lagoon and compared it to The Teacher from the Black Lagoon.

We went to music today, and tomorrow is Ready Bodies. Look for math papers to come home tomorrow.

Tuesday, September 1st

Today during math we wrote out number words for different numbers. For example: 43 is forty-three.

During Writer’s Workshop we wrote down things we liked inside of a heart to help us with more ideas about what to write about.

Our principal, Mrs. Koonce, came to our class and read The Principal from the Black Lagoon. We really enjoyed having her in our classroom.

Tomorrow is P.E. again!

Monday, August 31st

We did many thing today. In math we drew pictures to solve problems. See take home folder for the paper. During Writer’s Workshop we talked about ideas to help us when we do not know what to write about. Inside our take home folders we also have a paper to fill out to help us with other ideas. Please take time to fill this out with your child.

Today was our first day to visit the Library. We also went to Technology. Tomorrow is P.E.

Thursday, May 14th

Happy Birthday, Madison R!

During Writer’s Workshop, we finished our Important Book and started working on their Sail Into Summer project.

We were an audience for Mrs. Barlow’s class while they practiced their CHAMPS assembly. Good luck!

We read Duck for President and watched the video and answered questions about the story.

Tomorrow is Ready Bodies and CHAMPS Assembly. Be on time!

Wednesday, May 6th

Today we continued working on our Mother’s Day projects during writing. In math, we compared two-dimensional and three-dimensional figures. We also counted how many faces, edges, and veritces a 3-D shape has and how many sides and vertices a 2-D shape has. In Science, we put together a book about sense and read it with a partner.

Tomorrow we are switching with Mrs. Duty’s class. She is going to music to practice their CHAMPS Assembly. We will go to P.E. again this week. Please wear the correct shoes.

Tuesday, April 28th

Today we were able to watch the Grandparent’s Day Kindergarten program. Mrs. Kimbley wanted us to be an audience so the Kindgarten kids could get extra practice. They did a great job!

We also practice our bus safety evcuation today.

Thursday, April 23rd

Happy birthday, Natalie! 🙂

In music we drew pictures with oil crayons of an old time radio. We are starting Ch. 11 in math – Geometry and Shapes. Tomorrow starts lesson 1 over two-dimentional shapes. We have also noticed that the temperature outside is going up! It is great during recess.

Spelling test tomorrow. Our words are: must, because, does, part, even, your, their, how, many, these, people, through, much, and also.

Wednesday, April 22nd

Today is Earth Day! We read our Scholastic News about Earth Day and learned that we should help the enviornment by recycling (items like computers, cell phones, paper, and plastic) and not littering trash. We need to work hard not to pollute the air so we can breathe.

We read Strega Nona: Her Story. We worked in groups to draw pictures of Strega Nona and Big Anthony. We wrote three characteristics of each character.
